SickKids 2013 Paediatric Palliative Care Symposium

Clinicians, researchers, educators, families and volunteers are invited to SickKids 5th Paediatric Palliative Care Symposium hosted by the Paediatric Palliative Care Team (PACT) and TRAC-PG on Wednesday October 16th, 2013. The full day symposium explores controversial and ethical issues in paediatric palliative and end of life care and features Grand Rounds with Dr. Joel E. Frader, Feinberg School of Medicine followed by panels discussions, breakouts, oral and poster presentations and ample networking opportunities. Learning objectives include increased understanding of: the concept of medical futility from various perspectives, end of life ethics as it affects different stakeholders, clinical practises for children with life-threatening illness and raised awareness of innovative paediatric palliative care practise and research.
